This song and video capture that awkward feeling we all experience in urban settings sometimes.  People can be strange when you’re a stranger.  As someone who takes public transportation, I can testify that it can be a burden.  When you are feeling vulnerable, the lack of personal space and close proximity to derelicts can be too much to take.  Now, don’t get me wrong, I am a badass New Yorker who has survived the dark days of the subway system.  But sometimes, you don’t have the strength to challenge other commuters with a cold stare.  Although I wish the F train had the colorful clientèle that appear in this Gus Van Sant clip.  In fact, I think I recognize some of the club kid extras.  As for the selection of a Hanson track, I make no apologies.  The soulful crooning of the middle brother makes me wish their comeback had been a success.
