walk of life
Now that spring has finally arrived, I can start my exercise routine. This includes power walking in the parks of this city. Sometimes, I listen to my Zune, but that can be a little unwieldy. So more often than not, I just sing. I used to swan around town in suburbia singing to myself and people thought I was just crazy. But in NYC, nobody blinks. I am very musically inclined, and I have a massive jukebox lodged in my brain. Now, certain songs are more suitable than others for my aerobic excursions. A simple, strong melody with an uplifting message can help motivate me to keep on movin’. I would imagine that this tune would sound great as you are driving down the freeway in a convertible with the top down. But since I am a pedestrian, I’ll make do with a walkabout. There is a certain upbeat quality about this track that never fails to get me going. It has the blue-eyed soul flavor that reminds me of a classic Swing Out Sister single. So thank you, Mel C. for giving me the strength to continue.
